    I recently installed a new computer game onto my external hardrive and found this evil little error whenever I try to run the game.
    "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program: F:\KOTOR\swkotor2.exe
    abnormal program termination "
    Now I've seen people with similar problems using Microsoft Outlook and this was resolved by simple disabling spamfilter. Seeing as this is not an option for me and I've already tried running RegCure to no avail. I was wondering what I should do at this point. I'm using home vista if that helps anyone.
    Keep in mind I'm computer challenged and won't understand ANY technical terms you use, so please keep answers as blunt and simple as possible.

    That's a 2005 game, and most likely not compatible with Vista.

    You may want to try this: right click on the swkotor2.exe file and select Properties. Select the Compatibility tab and check Run this program in compatibility mode for and select Windows XP.

    I just attempted to switch the compatability but it is still giving me the same message.

    If you aren't going to post advice for me, PLEASE don't post. If I had said this was Internet Explorer that wasn't working you would have treated it with a completely different attitude. So for the time being just "pretend" that the program is important to me.

    Like I said:
    It isn't an integral part of the OS, its a 3rd party software. If you think you can't do without it you'd better contact them for a compatible version.
