Hey folks!! Well I FINALLY got a new computer! Bought all the components seperately and put it all together on Friday! Woo hoo!! (It's a 1.2 GHz machine -- a FAR cry from my 450MHz!!)
    .
But I digress... My problem is this: Windows no longer uses ASPI for CD access. Since 1999 I've used AudioCatalyst to rip my CD's to the computer (I'm a sound designer, I'm not talking illegal stuff here, mostly sound effects).
    .
Anyhow - Since upgrading to XP, AudioCatalyst no longer gives me the option to rip digitally, telling me I can only do it via analog means.. (yuck!)
    .
So I'm looking for software that: Uses the CDDB database, and digitally copies tracks to the hard drive. I don't care if it does MP3 or not, as I load audio files on my computer for editing purposes.
    .
It's gotta be good software, and not *too* expensive ;-) Thanks in advance for any advice !!!

i have a borrowed copy of a program called CoolEdit Pro installed on my machine, and I love just messing around with it. it seems to be VERY powerful for anyone that can take the time to learn it, and im pretty sure it would have an option similiar to what you speak. again, the program is CoolEdit Pro (the company also has a less powerful version available, CoolEdit 2000).. im not 100% positive it would have the feature ur looking for, but im sure it wouldnt hurt to check up on it. find it at http://www.syntrillium.com/

Thank you for the reply ;-) I already own Cool Edit Pro, and it does have a CD track import option, but I'm looking for something closer to AudioCatalyst.. Small, simple, fast and able to grab multiple tracks quickly.
    .
While CEP does have this option, it's a bit of overkill for what one would think to be a simple process.
    .
I'm trying out MusicMatch Jukebox currently - But again, seems very bloated... *sigh* I miss utilitarian software. :)
    .
Thanks again for the reply ;-)
