In short, when the BIOS is "Verifying DMI pool data" it is verifying the table of data it sends to the operating system (Windows, etc.). If it isn't sucessful, it should return an error. Wait a reasonable period of time for it to finish. It may make take some time.

Do you get a error when this happens ?

Have you checked to see if you have a CD/DVD Disk in the Drive ?

If you have a non-bootable CD/DVD in a CD/DVD drive you will get this error.

Here is a web site on how to access the BIOS:
    How to access your BIOS:

Also - If you have any FlashDrive or External USB Drive plugged into any USB Slot - Unplug them and see if the
    error goes away.

    Three things spring to mind.

    1) Your CMOS battery is failing, try replacing it.
    2) Your DVD/CD drive is faulty, Verify that your first boot device is your Hard Drive. Test by disconnecting the DVD/CD drive.
    3) Your Hard Drive is failing/has failed.

Hopefully it's 1) only cents to replace but others may post further suggestions.

Open your case and behind the DVD drive you'll see a Molex power connector (see below). Just unplug it (it may take some effort but grip the plastic do not pull the wire :))

I'm still thinking it's the battery though, click on this link for info to replace it (these batteries usually have a lifespan of 3 - 5 years).

Probably best, it's a simple procedure but if you're at all wary of messing about inside your computer it is better to get assistance.

Let us know how things go.

I'm certain it's not a software issue, The error you are recieving is from the BIOS well before windows (or any OS) even attempts to start. The only software issue is your computer can't locate an OS to boot from.

Sounds like a normal fix-all from support personell that in this case probably won't work. Your choice though.
