I'd like to see a listing for "Tools" on the left menu that includes the links you posted as well as other tools I've seen others post to help diagnose problems (like HJT, malwarebytes, etc.).

    Hi all,

I believe the other links that Chris was referring to were HD diagnostics etc.

I agree with his proposal in principal but understand the additional work required for staff and Admin making sure links are kept up to date. If possible then please implement Chris' idea if not a suggestion for Chris and others.

I use a program called The Cannery which is basically a database of frequently asked questions where you cut and paste the answers. I only have a dozen or so answers which are constantly updated so can understand the nightmare that Admin would have to trouble himself with on top of the excellent job he does now. In my case I rely on posters saying this link is no longer valid then I'll look at the database and update as appropriate.

Chris, a good suggestion but perhaps too much work.

Arie, if it's possible perhaps worthwhile at least as a test.

    Hi wildfire,

I agree that a complete list of Tools could be a nightmare for Admin., but what I'm talking about are the ones that are most frequently mentioned on these forums. Sort of kinda like: "Click on the Tools Menu and download (whatever), run it and post the results. "

    Those kind of Tools.

These come from Member's personal stash... I simply paste into Notepad ideas/tools etc that I want to keep.

You too can start a collection...

So unlike you, Sean, given how meticulous you usually are, clear and not a typo in sight.....but I do believe you meant not CANNERY....but CONNERY, right?:p

Seriously, my take is this is a keenly conceived and very well engineered site. and very user-friendly and pragmatically viable.

I also agree that Chris's suggestion was good, but just imagining what implementing it would involve... exhausts me.
