[Dell latitude 1150 refuses to start]

Hi

could anyone tell me what could be wrong with my laptop. It just went out and there is a orang light on the front. I always had it connected with the adapter so I hardly ever used the battery. thanks for any help

It could, let us hope, be the adapter per se. I might suggest you first test that with a voltage meter.....or take it to someone who can do that.

Next, have you left your battery in the lappy while mostly using it on A/C? Not a really good idea; I remove mine when using my lappy at home, it extends the batt's lifespan... but have you left it in?

Next how old is this laptop? Meaning, how old is the adapter? They don't last forever.

Afterthought: When you plug in the adapter, is it stable in the jack? Does anything feel loose or wiggle? Powerjacks in lappys are notoriously fragile.
