I have a problem with chkdsk running every time I reboot. Can someone tell me how to stop this? Thanks.

Do you let it complete or are you canceling it?

I cancel it because I don't want to wait for it every time I reboot. I have let it run two or three times but it still pops up with every reboot. Shouldn't I be able to stop this with a registry change somewhere?

Click Start, then Run, type cmd, and click "Ok ".
At the prompt in the command window that opens, type:
    fsutil dirty query C:
    and press "Enter ".
Does the result of this indicate the drive is "Dirty "?

Follow the steps mentioned below and take backup of registry before performing the steps
    1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.

    2. Locate and then click the following key in the registry:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\BootExecute
    3. On the Edit menu, click Modify.
    4. Type autocheck autochk *, and then press ENTER.

Thanks for the articles. Don't see anything of any use there. Don't have HP printer or scanner. I checked the registry settings for BootExecute and they are already set at "autocheck autochk* ". With that it would seem that I don't need a registry repair.
