OE 6 is not connecting. It stays in the 'authorization' stage and then times-out. If it does get through to the 'receiving mail' stage, that will result in a time-out too! I've got these errors: 0x800CCC90 and 0x800CCC19. On occasion, the mail does get through. I did adjust the 'services' but put all of them back to to default settings in an effort to correct the OE problem. Any suggestions will be appreciated. My OS is Win XP SP 3. Thanks.

Try creating a new account from scratch - do not make a copy of your existing account, start from scratch entering the appropriate data into the New Account wizard.

OE 6 worked OK when I first started to use the pc this morning!! This is very strange!! Should I be using my laptop at the same time as my desktop, which are on the same router, to get emails etc?
When you mentioned creating a new account, will that mean I have to get a new email address etc. Could you please give more details? Thanks.
Now I'm going to see if my laptop OE works after its first startup of the day. I'm going to turn my desktop off.

Did you google the two error codes and see info like:

You receive error 0x800ccc90 or error 0x800ccc18 when you try to log on to Exchange Server by using Secure Password Authentication

No - create a new account - give it a new name of course, using exactly the same data as shown under your current account.

    Speaking from memory .....

Tools > Accounts > Properties to see current settings

Tools > Accounts > Add > Mail and fill in exactly the same details as your current account properties, but give the account another name from the current when asked.

I suspect a problem with your ISP - not the computers.

Would be an idea to reboot the router - can't do any harm :)

Do I just pull the power plug on the router...wait a while...and then plug it in? Do I have to do anything else?

That is one way - the other is to log onto your router in IE by typing 192.168.0.1 into the Address Bar which should give you access to the Router Settings - under Diagnostics there should be a reboot button.

Probably simpler to pull the power cord , wait 30 secs and plug it back in again :)
