our IT man was told he must get refurbished ink for all printers to save money, I have an HP Photosmart D7260. I recall reading that refurb ink for these printers can do damage to the printer, is this so? is there evidence for this reported by users NOT HP?
    thanks

I have HP deskjet 6122 printer and have been using refurbished ink from
101inks.com and haven't had any problem so far. Bottom line is it's up to you.

It depends on the ink. Not all 3rd party ink is the same. And another problem is that you cannot be sure of the consistency from any 3rd party supplier. There's nothing stopping Staples, Office Max or 101inks.com from going to a different source that may or may not have the same quality standards.

If any printers are still under warranty, I would advise against using anything but the genuine stuff.
