I just built a PC with:

    Gigabyte P55A-UD4P MB
    Core i7 860
Gigabyte (ATI) HD 4670 1GB video card with HDMI
    Windows 7 Home Premium

The display of an ACER P235H LCD monitor doesn't fill the screen. The resolution is set to 1920x1080. There is a black band all around the screen.

If I connect the monitor to a system with a Zotac GeForce 9300 ITX MB with Windows 7, the display completely fills the screen - also using HDMI.

I've check at Gigabyte and ATI for the latest drivers.

I had a similar problem when I changed back to my Philips LCD TV as my monitor. When I had it connected DVI from the Graphic card to DVI on the TV it was not filling the screen, for some reason when I tried connecting from HDMI on the Graphic card to HDMI on the TV it filled the screen so I stuck with that setup.

Since I'm already using the HDMI, I'll give the DVI a try. I don't need the HDMI audio. Thanks for the idea.

WOW!!! I works with the DVI cable. I thought I might have to buy a different video card. I wonder why there's a difference? I only used the HDMI because I hadn't hooked up my speakers and downloaded the audio driver yet and didn't change cables after I did. Thanks again.
