I have 2 laptops conected to a wireless router for the internet. One uses Vista the other Win7. Instead of adding a ethernet printer(no USB on router), can I buy a wireless(wifi) printer like the HP Photosmart Plus All-in-One (CD035A#ABA) and use the printer as a stand alone without being connected to the router. Will I still have my interent connection working and have wireless printing.
    Any info appreciated.

PS- Any recommendation on a good (not expensive) printer.

    Yes.

Also, you don't need usb on a router for ethernet printers. Printers with built in print servers connect to routers via ethernet ports.

I have an HP6480 all in one wireless printer/scanner that sits across the room connected to nothing. Works great with 2 desktops and 1 laptop, using XP Pro, Vista & Win7, both wired & wireless. I'm not fond of HP, but this printer works very well.
