Has any member experiecnced intermittent wireless connections with an older Netgear WGT624 router? I recently rebuilt a friends HP laptop with XP PRO SP2, when I attempt to connect to the router, it's hit or miss however, when I attach to my Linksys WRT54G, I connect and stay connected until I disconnect.

See if there are any firmware upgrades for the Netgear.

    Same problem here.
My router is v3 and there was an upgrade availabe. Only a minor upgrade, but I did it anyways. It seems to help. I have been able to log on and have not been kicked off.

Sold my sister in-law a used desktop computer. While setting it up, she mention when her kids visited they complained no WIFI connection for their notebooks. I had upgraded my network last spring with a Netgear WNR3500, replacing a Netgear 624-v2 I had used 3-5 years. Was a very reliable connection so I gave / set it up for her. Heard from my sister-in-law, continues to do a fine job in her house, .. when kids visit, their happy campers.
