Does anyone know where I can download the drivers for my linksys WRT54 G? I was erased and can't find the disc. The Linksys web site is no help.

Generally routers do not need drivers.

This Wiki link may help but if you can explain your problem in more detail I'm sure further assistance will be available.

Well, the application was deleted completely on accident and I don't want to do a restore because many other things were fixed and I don't want to bring those "problems" back. I actually need the disc but.....

You don't need the disc. What is your ISP? You can enter the information required without running a robot through your computer. Your router does not need a driver.

I have Cox cable. Are you asking for the address? I don't know exactly. I'm running XP so if you tell me where to find it I'll look it up.

Select your version and the user manual links appear. Look on bottom of router for version #.

I found it. What should I be looking for? I've never done this before so I may need some help.

Bottom of router will say the product name. example:
    WRT54Gv7

    v7 = version 7.

Select your version and download the User Manual.

Or just tell us your router version #.

@amaurer2 - you need to IMMEDIATELY edit your post above and remove your IP address (or hopefully a mod/admin will see it first and do it for you). That is something that NEVER needs to be posted in a public forum.

open the user guide and find this section:
    Chapter 3 Advanced Configuration
    >> How to Access the Web-Based Utility

Login to the router using Web browser and select this connection type:
    Automatic Configuration - DHCP

Skip down the guide to this section:
    Wireless Network

    Set Wireless Network Mode: Mixed

Set SSID: change from Linksys to a unique name such as MaurerNet

Set Wireless Channel to channel 1 or 11.

Set Wireless SSID Broadcast to enabled.

    Next: Wireless > Wireless Security

Set Security Mode to WPA Personal
    Select TKIP
Type a passkey. (write this on paper too, or use an existing password you already know)
    Group Key Renewal: 3600

On each Linksys page in the browser you MUST click the "save settings" button BEFORE going to another page.

    That's it.

Wired computers will be connected and wifi computers will be prompted for the passkey when first connecting. Windows can remember this paskey so don't have to type it each time you connect.
