    Hi all!

I have this strange problem. While pressing the space bar plus up arrow key plus left arrow key the computer beeps and the left key doesnt get registered.
It works fine with the others.

On windows xp this didn't happen, and currently I have the same computer, only changed to Windows 7.

Can anything be done to fix this?

Why such a strange key combination? If you created some off-the-wall keyboard shortcut, maybe Win7 won't recognize it.

This isn't a shortcut. It happens while playing a game, the key doesn't get registered, computer beeps through speakers, and the computer beeps even if if I press it at the desktop.

Oh and space+up+left isn't alone. spc+down+left and spc+down+right does same thing. If it would be a shortcut of some kind, why does the space+up+right doesn't beep...

    To make it short...

    spc+u+l, spc+l+d, spc+d+r, and spc+u+d makes windows beep.
Combinations are not accidental, because I'm playing need for speed, and space is the handbrake, and arrow keys are the accelerator, brakes, and steering. I know that I could just redefine the keys, and make handbrake on some other key, but that just ruins the play, because I was using this default layout for a long time and for a lot of games.
It is not the game's fault, becaue the same combinations make windows beep at the desktop too.
    spc+u+d and spc+u+r doesn't make windows beep.
On Windows XP this didn't happen.

Can anyone with windows 7 try this too and see if it beeps?
Oh, and I have been googling for windows 7 keyboard shortcuts, and none of them were like these (spacebar plus arrow keys), or they had to have ctrl in them.

Not a beep to be heard - Win 7 Pro x64 with bog standard MS wired keyboard.

If you're using an MS keyboard have you installed Intellitype for Windows 7 - or for other keyboards the manufacturer's Win 7 keyboard software?

    I still don't understand...but would like to;)

spc+u+l -> is that a legit key stroke that should do something or should we suggest you stop hitting those stokes to avoid the beep?

No, I haven't installed any additional drivers, and my keyboard doesn't require them.

As far as I know space + up + left doesn't do anything, and if it did, then space + up + right should do something opposite, right? :D

I will try same thing with my other win7 pc. That one has a USB keyboard, so the results may be different.
Oh and mine windows 7 is x86 ultimate, just in case.

Ok, I have tried that USB keyboard and it didn't beep. Weird. It doesn't beep on other PC, and it doesn't on this.
My current keyboard is PS/2, so I don't have a clue what might be happening. Maybe the keyboard is sending faulty signal or... I don't know.

But hey, the solution to the problem - new keyboard. I needed a new one anyway. Supporting "legs" (the things under the keyboard to tilt it, don't know what they are called technically) broke off, and now it's not very comfy... But that's another story :D
