I got win7 ultimate and trying to get setup for the install (from vista).

A couple of answers needed please -
I have all devices (printer, external disk(3), USB's) turned on and a cd/dvd inserted where needed.

    According to the compatability program,

    a. I keep getting a message that there is no disk in a drive, could this
    be the memory card reader?

    b. I can't believe that the wireless MS intellipoint mouse (and/or the
"Pro" version) are not compatablewith win 7? Is it necessary to buy a
new mouse just for win 7?

    thanks,
    clif

I use the Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse 2.0 and haven't had a problem after upgrading from XP to W7 (clean install). I did start with an old standard wired mouse and ran the Win7 install program downloaded from microsoft.com (Intellipoint for W7 x86_1033_7.00.260.0.exe to be exact) and switched to the wireless mouse right after that and have been running fine ever since (a week).
