Ive just bought a new custom built desktop pc from a dealer and it is registred to OEM. I'm sure this isnt a big deal but I'd like it registred to me. Ive been told to edit or change to OEMINFO.TXT file in windows, but I have no such file.
    Can anyone assist?
    Thanks

Do you mean when you look in the system preferences?

It requires a registry edit as described in this Microsoft Knowledge Base article.

If you're uncomfortable editing the registry or if you're rather do it the easy way (always my preference), go to this Kelly's Korner page, scroll down to line 7 and in the right-hand column, click on "Change Registered Owner and Organization" to download a small .vbs file. You may have to right click it and left click "Save target as." Be sure to remember where you save it.

Once you have it downloaded, double click it to run it. Just enter the information it asks for and it will make the change in the registry.

If your antivirus objects to running a .vbs file, ignore it. The files from Kelly's Korner are safe.
