These are the directions given to me on the AT&T forums. I think I've done everything they said to do. The computer says that t-bird is the default, but I can't right click to send a link or picture. Can anyone see what I'm missing?

    Thanks

you may try one of these steps to set Thunderbird as your default email
    application:

    thru Thunderbird:

From Thunderbird's main window, go to Tools > Options, and make sure that the General icon is highlighted.
Under Default Settings, check the Mail checkbox.
Click OK to validate your choice. Close Thunderbird. Then try sending a link and see if Thunderbird automatically handles it.

    thru Internet Options:

Go to the Start Menu, choose Control Panel --> double-click on Internet Options --> Programs tab --> Under E-mail, all email programs recognized as such by Windows will be listed: Thunderbird will be among these since it is installed on your computer.
Select Thunderbird from the E-mail drop-down, and click OK to validate your choice.

Then try sending a link and see if Thunderbird automatically handles it.

    thru Program Access and Defaults:

Go to Start --> then Control Panel --> click on Add or Remove Programs --> Set Program Access and Defaults --> Custom --> set Mozilla Thunderbird as your default email application. Then try sending a link and see if Thunderbird automatically handles it.

The directions seem ok. I did a test sending a link from one of my Cox addresses to my Yahoo address. This was from a L.L.Bean e-mail, and it was not a visible link, but, rather, a picture, as it is common in such newsletters. I right click, and one option was to Copy link location. I, then, right clicked and pasted into the e-mail. I received a working link at my Yahoo address.
How were you trying to send the link? The same should apply with pictures, if sending them is allowable.

Thanks! Yes, I tried to copy and paste and that worked. But, I had Thunderbird for a few years now, and have always been able to right click, and then get send to, and then Thunderbird will pop up automatically. I'm using a different computer now, but I think the same winxp, but a newer version of Thunderbird, 2.0.0.23 now.

There may have been a right click|send to, in the past, but I never even saw it. May be someone else may comment on this.

I finally called the fellow at pcmd where I bought this used but great computer. Told him the problem, and he had me do this

    click start
    click run
    type or copy paste
    regsvr32%windir%\system32\sendmail.dll and then click OK
    reboot

It did not work. I guess it would have worked if I was using IE. I use FF, so he re did it, but I can't remember exactly what he had me do. I know I wrote an about config send to...anyway it was very simple and everything is up and running!

In FF there is a right click, send to, and then your e-mail program pops up with the link or picture on it.

I'm sorry I can't remember exactly what I did, but if it comes back to me I will let you know. I'm over 60 ya know

    Thanks for everything
