How do I turn DEP of or on in Windows 7 Ultimate?

I have tried the command that worked in Vista.....bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

It tells me in Windows 7 tha bcdedit is not a recognised command or batch file.

    Any ideas?

About the same as it was in xp or vista. But why turn it off? Having it enabled won't degrade comp performance and believe it or not it's a useful feature, it prevents buffer overflow exploits caused by non-malicious and malicious software.

You can turn off DEP for IE8
go to tools-> internet options -> advanced tab -> under security section uncheck "enable memory protection to help mitigate online attacks "

An afternote on this....The version of Windows 7 Ultimate I was practicing on before buying ;) must have been tampered with.I have since BOUGHT a nice new shiny Windows 7 Home Premium and the instruction in my original post works fine now.So I can now turn DEP of and on at will.:)
For anyone who wants to know why I want it off at times....it's because my ePSXe emulator will not work unless DEP is off.....I'm afraid that even at the ripe age of 51 I can't do without my Playstation emulator.:D

Does having DEP turned off do any harm to my system or make me more at risk?

But it won't do any harm to disable it to play the ePSXe and enable it again when I'm done???

Even better,I can now select what programs run without DEP by going the My Computer....Properties....Advanced System Settings....Performance....Settings....Data Execution Prevention....Add tab ....route.I couldn't do this before but I found if you run the following command in Command Prompt (run command prompt as administrator) then type bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx optin. This won't work for the game Manhunt (I can just put DEP off completely to play that game) but it works for the ePSXe emulator.

    cheers
