    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

Please post in the correct forum - this is clearly an Internet Explorer issue - moved.

First try starting IE in No Add-ons mode - right click the IE desktop icon > Start without add-ons or Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Internet
    Explorer (No add-ons).

If links now open you have an add-on which is preventing the links from opening. Disable all add-ons and re-enable them one by one until the culprit is found.

If the issue remains - Tools > Internet Options > Advanced - Reset

If the issue remains check that your antivirus/firewall is not preventing them from opening.

Are you running Google Desktop? If so disable/remove it and see if the issue is resolved.

Check that IE is set as the default browser ....

Tools > Internet Options > Programs - Default web browser.

Try enabling compatibility mode. It is the broken page icon next to the refresh button on the toolbar. Here’s a good resource from the IEBlog that talks about compatibility mode in detail if you’d like to learn more: http://blogs.msdn.com/ie/archive/2009/02/16/just-the-facts-recap-of-compatibility-view.aspx

If that doesn’t work, run IE in No Add-ons Mode. Go to Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Internet Explorer (No Add-ons) - If this fixes the issue, then go to Tools -> Manage Add-ons and enable the add-ons one by one to find which one was causing the problem.

If you’re still not having any luck, I recommend you reinstall IE8 on your system.

    Cheers,
