I installed win7 ultimate, using the custom setting.
It formatted the "C" drive (partition) and then ask for signed
driver (I have no idea what it wanted).

Finally, I did a hardboot, and the install restarted, but
started saying no bootmgr, or primary partition, several
    times.

Did another coldboot and told the install to use "D "
partition. Dont know what happened but it did finish the installation.

Results: When it boots, it shows a screen with Windows 7
listed twice (as in a multiboot). If i select the 1st win7,
everything is norma, bootup is from the "C" partition.
    l.
When i selected the 2nd OS, it said "Updating registry "
then showed the install screen "continuing install ". Of
course, it wouldn't accept the windows key when that
    screen showed.

On the "D" drive i see a file called $Windows.~bt.
On the "G" partition i can see a Windows folder that looks
identical to the windows folder on "C ".

So, question is how do i get rid of the multiboot and the
windows folder on the "G" partition?

    Windows did re-letter the partitions.

    thanks for your time,
    savagcl

    START OVER.
Format/destroy all partitions and do another fresh install to get rid of the partital installation and the good install on the wrong partition.

You'll probably have to activate by telephone but they'll be the least of our problems;)

    Steve,
The good install is on the correct partition "C ".
I just need to get rid of the bad, partial install on the "G "
partition. Would safe-mode let me do this?

I think i'll hold off on attempting a 4th (or 5th) install until
i at least get to know more about win7. Besides, if i try
another install, i'll get that win7 asking for a signed driver
( or missing bootmgr)and i don't know what it wants.

I need a break from installs (Shouldn't be necessary to do
4/5 installs to get it right, i must be slipping).

    Much thanks for the help,
    savagcl

    Problem solved.

went into msconfig and changed the boot option then
formatted the "G" partition and the second (incomplete)
win7 files are gone! No install required.

    Thanks for the help,
    savagcl
