not sure if this should go in other browsers

i have x64 it runes 24/7 i only reboot when required for updates or software install/removal, i got all updates installed.

PC runs fine for days and doesn't freeze, actually if it doesn't freeze up in the first few hrs after reboot it doesn't freeze at all.

but today for example, i rebooted cause firefox was hanging upon restart 3.5.5 was installed less than 30 minutes later PC froze then again after an hr or two, again after a couple of hrs (most of them i was AFK) PC froze again. prior to that PC was running for over a week and no problems.

I suspect its FF related but not the update in question.
when I first intalled x64 i searched for a 64 bit version of firefox and installed shiretoko unfortunately this was a while ago so i cant tell you which version it was.
as soon as i started shiretoko i realized it wasn't a Mozilla official release so i got FF (im pretty sure it was 3.4) and removed the x64 version.
it seems it didn't install properly because when i go in customize start menu and add the internet short cut even though it calls it firefox it add a broken link to the x64 version.

i need help cleaning the registry to get rid of the infamous shiretoko.

    ty

Official 64-bit Firefox doesn't exist. At least until future 4.0 version.
    Registry cleaners are not recommended.
First thing to try would be to run system restore to a date before Shiretoko install.

I don't understand. You ran system restore, or not?

i can not be sure about the freezing, but yeah Vista no longer thinks Shiretoko is default browser or anything, as far as im concerned complete removal of Shiretoko is a break through.

I know, playing with registry may be dangerous.
    Restore point, first, always...
