Can not download new versions of firefox.

PLEASE HELP ME.

I recently had a small problem with Firefox, and posted on their support forums (those forums are USELESS, no one helped, AT ALL).
I noticed on the forum that it said the following for my current version of Firefox:
2.0.0.3;MEGAUPLOAD
I had no idea what that was, and it scared me a little. So I went to download 3.5.3, and it will NOT LET ME.
I can't open the .exe. Here is what it says when I do try to open it:



I'm really freaking out right now, please help me.

 

1.Firefox2.0.03 is very outdated.
2. Megaupload does not explain anything. It is an online storage place. Maybe it is a hint on where to get Firefox. However, you should be able to get the update, simply via Help|Check for updates. Since the new version is very different, you should be able to get the entire file. After installing it, preferably uninstalling the previous version, it should be pick up the existing profile.
3. Which Operating System do you have. Typically, the Administrator has the proper permissions.
4. The second image makes no sense. VLC is a media player. It has nothing to do with Firefox. What happens if you select Choose? I have WinXP, and if have Vista, I am not much help, but give a few details. Like what happened to 2.0.0.3?

By the way, which support group did you try? Can you post what you asked? May be it was confusing, and no one could unsterd your plight.

 

You have probably installed the less than trustworthy firefox toolbar from megaupload.com

firefox 2 is perfectly acceptable when configured correctly and updated to 2.0.0.20

"upgraded" versions have so many fun ways to abuse ram.
