When I restart my laptop (Asus A6J) the computer hangs on the asus start screen (ie before ican use F8 etc). If I do a complete restart its ok but a lot slower than usual. I think others have had this problem. Has any one got any ideas.
    Thanks

If you have been overclocking this is called justice.

Perhaps you have allowed your laptop to overheat and have some toasty microfractured bits inside?

When is the last time you blew the dust out of the processor fan and air duct?

    Thanks Whiskeyman

I followed your advice and that has helped, not just this problem but for future maintainance. I'd like to point out though, without meaning to be rude, that Nozoframs response was unhelpful in this it makes no sense to a beginner like me who is using this forum to improve myself and not be intimidated. but otherwise thanks for your help
