start up issues

    ok so im really new to this first forum ive really been on but ive seen alot ppl on here so i figured this would be the best place to have my issue resolved so i want to thank anyone and everyone in advanced :D

    so here is my issue

    C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\STARTM~1\Programs\Startup\INSTAL~1.exe

    ^^^ the above pops up on my screen and gives me something about an error i was wondering if anyone could assist me in getting rid of this?

    Hi kevinb, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

    According to this link your computer is infected with malware.

    Please read this and post a new thread in the Malware and Virus Removal Forum.

    Also if you want to try and remove that popup then try this, click Start< All Programs< Startup. Right click the install.exe file and select delete. Reboot the computer for the change to take affect.

    well my comp needed a major cleanup so i restored to factory settings to start brand new with it do you think that was a good idea?

    Well it was really up to you. Since you said that the computer needed a major cleanup then maybe you did make the right choice by restoring the system to factory settings.
