hp 6500 setup- win 7

First to steve jones for advice- pop in win 7 and ler er rip!!!- got win 7 up and running in less than 2 hrs, no headaches, just very minor issues with reinstalls. #1 rating for steve j. NOW: does anyone know how to properly hookup hp 6500 wired for windows 7, just bought printer today, hp does not have updated driver for 6500, wont be available till end of nov.

 

Congratulations on a issue free installation - I suggest now just manually check Windows update for driver updates and also look in "custom" - as sometimes a system related driver update can be located there
As for the printer driver and utility installation - use the VISTA programs with the setup files set for VISTA compatibility mode (and run as administrator)

 

I just went through this with another HP multifunction system. On the HP webpage they tell you to install the driver from the disk that came with the printer. If you don't have it you can download the latest driver from their web. My driver only was 25MEG. Install the driver then connect your printer. I had to connect with the USB cable to install the printer the first time then disconnect it and reload it as a network printer. My driver is supposed to be ready sometime in Jan 2010.
