Can't open a file with Visio Viewer

    I need to open a visio file (.vsd) so I downloaded visio viewer 2003 from microsoft.....
    When I try to open the file it launches internet explorer I then allow active x content but doesn't display anything only a small red x in the corner.

    I have windows xp with ie7

    Thanks for your reply hllstrHUNTER

    I tried deleting viewer 2003 and downloading 2007 with the same result.

    Any suggestions

    Check in IE under Tools> Manage Add-ons, make sure that it is enabled. Could also be other security software blocking the activeX. What types of security applications do you have?
