Resolved downloads freeze at 99%

    hi, i have been having problems dowloading anything from ie7 for the past few days.it gets to exactly 99% everytime and then does nothing.i have tried downloading things from different sites but always the exact same thing.i have never had a problem downloading anything before.and i dont think i have had any windows updates in the past few weeks.i have seen other posts on here about similar situations but havent really seen any answers.also i am only a little computer knowledable so please use newbie peoples terms.:eek:

    i do not have firefox.should i try switching from ie to firefox? is it the same thing? i thik i actually tried to download it but it wont let me.it freezes at 99% to.

    You don't have to switch. You can have as many browsers as you want.
    Try to download it on another computer and use USB stck/CD to transfer installation file to THIS computer.

    It might be your anti-virus program detecting something in the file you are downloading...it stops at the 99% to tell you, then waits for you to OK it...I know AVG does this...

    thanks for the help.i actually found this thing called killbox.went to tools and deleted all my temp files and cookies on all the profiles.and it seems to have worked maybe they were just taking up too much space.

    Yes, removing these things (which you can do without any 3rd party program) is one of the steps to troubleshoot your previous problem.
