    Dear Sir,

The system configuration is as per follows -

    OS - Win NT
Printer - Dot Matrix (Wipro 1050)

During printing, paper is tractor fed, page size selected is A4.

I want to know how to stop printer from skipping the page and print the matter continuously.

To elaborate, i want to explain that even after printing one letter, the whole page of running sheet is skipped. I want to stop this action so that whenever i start next time the printing start from the very next line the first printing is left.

Is this setting is software specific or generic one for a printer.

    regards,

    Gulam Dastgir

I would guess that it's software specific.
Which software are you using and have you tried a different one?

    Dear Steve,

Actually the software is for an analysing equipment (XRF analyser).

Though i have not tried the same with other software, but i like to know that if i have to print an excel sheet and the paper size selected is A4, then i think the paper will skip to complete the setting for A4 size. Isn't this?
If yes, then the problem may be with selection of paper size regardless of operating system?Isn't that?

I had that same problem over 10 years ago with a as you called it "traction drive" with continuous feed and I did fix it. I can't think for the life of me what I did as it's so long ago, but I think there are adjustments in the printer and it wasn't too complicated to adjust. Made me laugh reading your post as it was an old computer, running Windows 95 and I supplied the printer ex my son's Commodore PC. The Boss I worked for was a bit of a skinflint and supplied this 2nd hand computer which had to be upgraded to Windows 98 within about 3 months to keep up with the Software being used in our WOF Online System. If I can find out I'll try and let you know. Neil.:D

Is A4 a tractor feed size?

    Dear mattman,

I am not certain whether we have to select size for tractor feed or not. But i
think it should otherwise, for example, how it will understand that how much it
    has to type widthwise?

Sorry, But I have to ask:
What happens when you try to print from something like Excel?

    Have you tried it?

    Not from what I remember.

Get your ruler out and measure it. Usually I get the portrait and landscape measurements mixed up, but after a little trial-and-error it comes right. Usually, the ruler measurement does not match exactly with the printer settings (I expect you are using perforated paper, measure to the perforations).
