Hi, I'm new here and I need your help desperately, I have a Windows Vista Home Premium, I had gotten a bug in it so I did the whole reinstalling Windows Vista thing, during the process it asks if you want to backup your files, pictures, videos and other things that I can't remember, it took 2 dvd's or cd's, I can't remember but I used the one it said to, I followed the directions and it said that it had successfully downloaded it all, now I can't figure out how to reinstall them all, every time I try it says there isn't anything on them and while it put it on the cd's it said that it was successful. Can anyone please help me, I have oodles of pictures and videos of my family and grandchildren plus my wedding video, I have been in tears over this not being able to get them to reinstall :(. I would appreciate any help that anyone can offer, thank you and God bless.

Will do my best DrkGreenEyes2, lets hope between us we can spark some suggestions.

Ask if anything can read the files that were put onto the disks. Check the disks by trying to read them in another computer. Be careful with the disks, a significant scratch on the reading surface can render them useless.

I don't know what creates that sort of backup. Are you using the correct sort of program to reinstall the data? See if you can find files on the disks and their file extension, which is the "dot xxx ",for example, a picture file could have an extension of .jpg.

Let us know if you can find any files on the disks.

    Matt
