I have Windows XP on my computer, and I have a pesky icon on my taskbar. When I run my mouse pointer over this icon , it states "COM3: 0 bytes in, 0 bytes out" and I want to get rid of that icon. Can anyone tell me how to delete that icon permanently. Thank you. abs

Is it in your task bar of "Systray" which is the area to the far right where your clock is?

If you right click on it - what options do you see?
