    Sir,
My laptop is loaded with vista home premium. When I am opening my system restore and checking "show restore points older than five days" it is showing only two restoration points. In my XP it is more numbers and covers at least previous two months. Plse help me to resolve this.

It’s probably to do with how much disk space has been reserved for it.

Open an elevated command prompt by clicking the Windows Orb (Start) > All Programs > Accessories and right-click Command Prompt, then "˜Run as Administrator’. To display the current parameters type (or Copy and mouse right-click > Paste) "vssadmin list shadowstorage" (not the quotes but the two spaces) and press Enter.

To reduce (or increase) the disk space allocated, type (or Copy & Paste) "vssadmin resize shadowstorage /on=c: /for=c: /maxsize=15GB" (not the quotes but the five spaces) and press Enter. This example assumes changing the space on drive C to 15GB. You may find that all the restore points have been removed after resizing, so make sure the computer is behaving itself before reducing the space allocation. Also, make a manual restore point immediately after resizing.

    hello Arie
My system is dual booting with vista and XP and I have cleared all problems of dual booting and vista restoration problems earlier from this site only. I followed the steps of Burr Walnut and found that around 2.6 GB space is allocated for restoration. Can I have 2 months restoration points with this much space allowed? Plse reply.

    Regards
    Sree
