It has come to my attention that there are many folk who wish to to be able to pin the desktop to the task bar to the left of there computer using windows 7 ?
For those of you who wish to do this there is a small utility available for you to do so.

As it stands at the moment the show /peek at the desktop is to the far right of the computer

As i say this unity will position back to the left hand side of your computer just like as in xp/vista

There are many tutorials going around on how to achieve this manually with various degree's of success and having evaluated on what's happening in many forums i felt it was time to put everyone out of there misery and post this link :D

    enjoy

On my system, if I go to the extreme right side of the task bar, there is a small rectangle that will show the desktop if you click on it. If you mouseover it, it will make the active windows transparent and bring up a "Show Desktop" message.
