Windows Vista Beachhead 2000 Game not running

I have the beachhead 2000 game installed on my pc...i can get to the main screens and into the opening credits of the game, but when i click on play, it says can't execute game...can anyone help?!?!?!

 

Check your system (computer specs) more than meets the game's System Requirements.

My DirectX 9.0 game works like molasses (treacle) on Vista. Check if it is a DirectX 9.0/10 problem (was it made for DirectX 10?).
