Spoolsv CPU utilization

    Not sure whether this should be in this forum of Office but as it only appears with Win7 I'm putting it here. I'm running Win7 Pro RTM with Office 2007 Enterprise (patched as at today). Whenever I start Word/Excel/PowerPoint (Outlook is OK) spoolsv hits around 50% utilisation for a few seconds. I've punted around the web and deleted all printers except the real one - a TCP/IP HL LaserJet 4100DTN. There definitely are no print jobs in the queue for it which seems to be one of the common themes. Any bright ideas? Completely separately Foxit takes ages to load/unload but that appears to be it rather than spoolsv.

    App that spike for a second or two is no big deal...It's probably just communicating with the office app.

    I think spoolsv is having an issue anyway. If you want to print anything and don't go for quick print then change something (i.e. making it duplex) it takes about 5 seconds to change any tab (and shows printer - not responding) and then about the same again to apply any changes. I se HP have now released a Windows 7 driver so I'll try that to see if it cures it.

    Whoops - not yet available, just says use the Win7 inbuilt driver.
