I had it plugged into my xbox after I got my laptop back from HP. It was working fine untill i plugged it back into my laptop. At first it wouldnt turn on and now it does but wont sence anything is plugged in. I have even tried it on a vista to see if it would repair it but it wont sence that either.

Get the testing/setup utilities from Seagate
    http://www.seagate.com/www/en-us/support/downloads/
If those cannot see it, areas where the problem could be is the partition information on the HDD, the HDD is physically broken or the electronics in the case (the USB interface) are broken. For the last one, you can take the HDD out of the case/enclosure and connect it into a desktop computer. If it works, buy another external enclosure to put the HDD into.

Edit: In case it is actually broken, check the warranty information, most seem to be around three years.

Is the CD/DVD the same connection (SATA)? Use those cables.

Look on the motherboard, there is likely to be a spare SATA connector. You might need a SATA cable, they are only a few dollars and can be bought where ever PC accessories are sold.

You could contact the local PC repairer. They would likely test it and sell you either a replacement HDD or external enclosure at a reasonable cost.
