Help is going to be difficult without knowing what the error messages are.

Please post back with the exact wording of the errors you're getting.

You always can disable the "Messenger" service. Before doing so, I would look at the properties of the service to make sure you do not have anything that depends on it.

    Microsoft description of the service:
"Transmits net send an Alerter service messages between clients and servers. This service is not related to Windows Messenger. If this service is stopped, Alerter messages will not be transmitted. If this service is disabled, any services that explicily depend on it will fail to start. "

Instead of trying to disable error messages, you should try to fix the errors instead!

I have no idea about more recent OSs but would think it work for them also.

As Arie pointed out the best option is to FIX whatever is causing the notifications.

    Regards
