Does Diskeeper Hyperfast really help prolong the life of SSD's?

I don't own an SSD (or Hyperfast) and probably won't, in the near future, but let me hazard a guess nonetheless. The answer would be: 'probably, yes'.

From what I understand, Hyperfast consolidates and optimizes free space at the file system level. This will reduce the number of random writes in favor of sequential writes from the file system. Now, if the SSD controller firmware is not totally dumb :)D), for sequential writes, the probability of using up an entire 512kB 'physical' block (at the SSD cell level) will increase. Thus there will be fewer partially used blocks, resulting in fewer erase-rewrite operations for future writes, thereby increasing the life of the cells/SSD. I think the differences would be significant only after all the blocks in the SSD have been used up once. Also the internal wear-leveling algorithms of the drive would also play a significant role.

    Hey Thanks!

That's exactly what I've been reading.
