Hi, everyone! I'm currently working on my desktop at work, using a plant-wide wired connection. The problem I have exists with my notebook that connects to a company specific (there are several contractors in our office complex) wireless network. Please forgive my computer ignorance. My info:

    Machine: HP HDX Notebook
OS: Vista with Service Pack 2 Build 6002
Wifi: Itenl WiFi Link 5100 AGN (not sure if I have current drivers because I am not receiving any data, and therefore can't search)
Work Network: Non-broadcasting SSID using a Linksys router and DSL connection

At work: When I boot up my notebook, it connects automatically to the WiFi network. I can send and receive data fine for around 5 or 10 minutes, after which I lose connectivity. Trying to connect to the router through the browser using 192.168.1.1 doesn't work, and I receive a "Network Timeout" error. Signal strength is "excellent," and the Network Center shows me being successfully connected to the wireless network and the internet. When I attempt to diagnose the problem in the Wireless Connection Status window, I get "Cannot communicate with DNS server (10.1.1.41)," and some info about how Windows cannot repair the problem automatically. Connecting and then disconnect, resetting the router, and switching my radio on/off do not work, and I always come back to the same situation. Sporadically throughout the day, I'll regain the ability to send/receive data - but then it goes off again after a period of around 10 or 20 minutes.

Other PCs connected to the network are transmitting and receiving internet data just fine, as is my mobile phone.

Pinging the router works, but pinging google times out. Here are my command prompt results from ipconfig and the pings:

You'll have to look into the DNS issues. Probably best to talk to your companies IT staff.

Unless I'm missing something here how is a 192.168.1.x subnet going to see a 10.x.x.x DNS?
