Brand new Samsung 2033sw + nvidia 8400 GS + XP

I have the resolution and refresh rate set at 1600 x 900, 60 hz

Everything else looks fine but all of the text on the screen is blurry. I Googled for an hour and have found nothing to help me. A lot of sites suggested the auto-adjust but that doesn't help at all.

Thanks. What else can I adjust to sharpen my text even more? Or is this the highest I can go?

Try the MajicTune software that came with it, it may be able to tweak the settings.

You are sure that you have the latest nVidia drivers for your system?

The text should be bitingly sharp even when viewing from an inch away from the screen - is 1600x900 the native resolution of the monitor? It is - I checked on the Samsung site.

Is the monitor driver loaded? .....

The MagicBright3 applet appears to have a number of modes including Text Mode - check via that or the OSD that the appropriate mode is selected.

I actually did not have the latest drivers from nVidia. I signed up for their newsletter which told me I would get an e-mail whenever new drivers for my particular hardware was released. So far, I haven't got a single one and have missed two updates. I had the MagicBright software set on Gaming, which is ultra bright. I figured that it wouldn't affect the text. Apparently, I was wrong. I now have it set on 'Internet' and I suppose I'll have to switch back and forth when I'm gaming.

    Thank you for your help.

Also, another query. I have the resolution set at 1600X900, like it suggests, but when I go into the properties of the monitor from the monitor, it tells me the resolution is 1440X900. Is that normal?

1440x900 is the standard WSXGA Wide XGA+ and according to the article is common to 19" monitors - maybe Windows or Samsung are stretching a point. Still use 4:3 flat screens :)
