is there recovery from WindowsAntiVirusPro?

    i was hit b y AVPro............have removed via Viper AND McAfee.....it left "remnants" such as removal or changes to Windows XPPro......is there any recovery short of reinstalling?

    Your computer could still be infected with malware. Please read this and post a new thread in the Malware and Virus Removal Forum.

    Once your computer is declared clean then post back in this thread and we will figure out how to restore your system.

    quick reply.......scanning again......in the meantime.....virus has eliminated direct access to most software....get the pop-up "this file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association file in the Folders Option control panel "

    can't do that....in fact most icons in the control panel give me the same pop-up....I CAN access programs/software by "run as ".......they get the pop-up when i hit "open "

    scan complete...........I'm posting............and going to malware with this same message............
