I went to use the system restore function to fix an issue and my computer, HP Pavilion TX1000 laptop crashed without finishing the system restore. Every time I turn on my computer I can hear the start up i.e. fan running, but the screen still stays black. I am running 32-bit Windows Vista Home. Thanks for the help.

Can you attach the system to an external monitor and use the Fn keys (F4 or F5 in an HP, I believe)?
