I need to take a hard drive out of a laptop and connect it to a PC as a second hard drive. Or via USB. I found USB adaptors on the Internet but they are for PC hard drives. Does anyone know where I can find such adaptor.

    Laptop specs:
    Compaq Presario V6000

    Thanks for an help.

Look here for 2.5" drive cases. If you want to mount the drive internally, you'll need a 40 to 44 pin adapter (assuming this is an IDE drive).

    ;)

Hi wyobison, I have an IBM 6GB 2.5 HDD as an external unit. It came complete with it's own leather pouch and a USB connector cable which plugs into the HD case via a flat 6 pin connector which is 15m/m wide. The cable is about 700m/m long with a standard USB connector which connects to my Desktop PC USB socket. There is another cable which feeds out of USB connector and is about 280m/m long with a USB connector as well. I'm not sure what the short 2nd connector is for. Neil

Thanks for the responses. Found what I needed. Should of gotten one of these adaptors a long time ago.
