Windows cannot format this drive. Quit any disk utilities or other programs that are using this drive, and make sure that no window is displaying the contents of the drive. Then try formatting again.

    Please somebody help me.

Are you trying to format the C:\ drive from within Windows? This cannot be done as the drive is in use, by Windows. The System drive can only be formatted from outside Windows.

What are you trying to do? Install an OS in a clean install with format? Or ???

If this is the case boot from your retail copy of the XP (?) CD and follow these instructions .....
    .

If you have a Recovery CD boot from that and the drive will be formatted and the computer restored to the as-delivered condition.

If this does not cover your question post back with precise details of what you are trying to achieve.

    Right :)

Just follow the instructions I posted - I suggest you print them out before you start the process.
