I'm using Outlook Express and all of a sudden last evening I couldn't delete any of my messages. When I hit delete it says file can not be deleted - not enough memory. Please help. This is very frustrating. Thank you !!

Are you unable to delete messages from the Inbox, Outbox or empty the Deleted Items folder?

I am having the same problem on OE6 WinXP.

I can delete messages that are text only, but can't delete if they have an attachement or inline pics.

    Any help would be appreciated.

The problem may arise if the Inbox or Deleted Items folders are corrupted ......

Create a new folder in OE - InboxOld and drag all the files from Inbox into it - close OE.

Search for *.dbx - include hidden files and folders and delete Inbox.dbx

While you are looking at the list of dbx folders check out their size - the nominal limit is 2 Gb, but OE plays funny long before that limit is reached.

Open OE - Inbox will be recreated. Drag the contents of InboxOld into Inbox and delete the InboxOld folder.

    Test

If the problem remains go back to the dbx folders and delete the Deleted Items folder - with OE closed.

Restart OE - the Deleted Items folder will be recreated.

Test and post back with results.
