Resolved IE 8 will not complete downloads

    I noticed that when I try to download a program, or update for a program, IE8 will download, but it stops every download with 1 second left to complete it. Therefore the program or update is never fully downloaded, and so I am unable to install.

    I find that if I use Firefox to download programs and updates, there are no problems at all.

    I have already removed IE8 and then reinstalled it again, thinking that would correct the problem. It did not. And we are no longer given the option of "repairing" IE8 as we were once able to do.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi sandilew. Try this, click Start< All Programs< Accessories< System Tools< Internet Explorer (No-Addons). Can you download a program now?

    If that doesn't work then click Start< Control Panel< Network and Internet Connections< Internet Options< Advanced tab< Reset Button. After the reset is finished, restart Internet Explorer and try downloading a file again. Is there any difference?

    Hello Evan,

    Thank you for your help. I chose to try the RESET button option, and it worked.
    Everything is good to go now.
