Unable to open wmv files in Outlook Express

    I recently switched from MSN mail to Outlook Express. When I attempt to open an email with a wmv file I receive the followiing error message: "The file does not have a program associated with it. For performing this action, create an association in the Folder Options Control Panel" Can someone advise me what this means and how to do it? Thank you.

    Welcome to WindowsBBS :)

    You have not posted your Operating System so I have to guess that it is XP ......

    In Windows Explorer go Tools > Folder Options > File types

    Scroll down the list to .wmv and highlight it

    Check the association - should be Windows Media Player

    If not edit the association to point to WMP

    Thank you for your help. Yes I am using XP Home Edition. Now I am going to show my ignorance by asking how do I find Windows Explorer?

    It's well hidden :)

    Start > Programs > Accessories > Windows Explorer
