I disjoined my Windows 2000 Professional laptop from a Windows 2000 domain while offline (thinking I didn't need it anymore) but now I need to re-join the domain offline (because I want to access desktop profile and envrionment settings). I am failing to rejoin the domain so that I can select the old domain when logging on (I can only login locally now). I know the information is cached on my laptop. I can't physical go back to the company I was working for and login to rejoin thier domain because I left that company. How can I re-join the domain using cached domain information on my laptop?

    Welcome to WindowsBBS;)

Is that kind of like the last person that lived in your house before you did wanting to come into the house without your persmission?

Best Advice - contact your former employer and ask them for assistance.

Thanks, but that is not an option though I am still friends with the Network Admin from my former employer, but it will be unethical (and illegal) to ask him to sneak back my laptop and join domain and in any case my account is deleted the moment it attempts to logon my cached information will be messed up. So I don't my friends to be fired but I want to play around with my laptop which is my personal property, ebven if it breaks no one is hurt. So does anyone out there know how to do this? By the way it is easy to replicate so you all know what I mean.

Sorry. We can't help you with this.

It would be unethical, illegal and immoral – not to mention against the rules of this site.
