    Hi,
I bought a seagate external desktop drive the other day and tried to format it. Now it is in raw file system, and won't let me access it. Is there a way to reformat back into ntfs.? Thanks

Go to Start > Run and type diskmgmt.msc and click OK. If the drive is listed there, right-click on it and select format.

I've tried that, it doesn't show up on there. I had a couple of viruses recently so there's a few things not working correctly.
    Thanks

Then I suggest that you visit the manufacturers site for some installation software or diagnostic tool. Perhaps Here.

Yeah I've been on there too. this model was plug n play so there's no software. I think there's a bigger problem. I can't use anything on my control panel. There are no system restore dates available. I downloaded spybot to get rid of this fake antivirus virus that I had and everything has been going down hill since.

Hi btonning. It sounds like you have some malware on your system. You should get your computer clean of malware before trying to figure out your harddrive issue.

Please read this and create a new thread in the Malware and Virus Removal Forum.

After your computer is declared clean then post back in this thread and we will continue to help you troubleshoot your harddrive problem.
