    For security reasons I want to disable "File and Print Sharing" for Dial-Up. This was easy on my ICS client since there is only one TCP/IP Dial-Up adapter entry in the network configuration dialog box, but on the ICS host there are two entries for TCP/IP as follows:

    TCP/IP [Shared]-> Dial-Up Adapter
    TCP/IP -> Internet Connection Sharing.

    So which one do I un-bind? or do I do both?
    Will this effect my sons online gaming i.e. Half-Life TFC an CS

    :confused: as usual

    George - I think you would do better to install a firewall.

    Sorry for the partially non-answer but I am not familiar at all with gamming so can't help out there.

    I can say that disabling features is rarely my first choice to solve potential security issues.

    Zone Alarm is a good firewall and the cost is certainly right ($0.00). Black Ice Defender is better but not free. Norton Internet Security Suite bundles a firewall in with AV, lots of utilities, winfax, and other goodies. Again, not free but better IMO than Zone Alarm.

    I would suggest trying to disable File and Printer Sharing on ALL TCP/IP connections.

    This is a recommended practice.

    At least for the Dial up adaptor there is usually a WARNING that comes up if FAPS is bound to it suggesting that you unbind it.

    I believe that With FAPS bound to TCP/IP it leaves ports open even with a Firewall.

    Thankx BillyBob, I disabled F&PS for all TCP/IP, so far no problems.
