I am planning to install windows 7. Since the install will delete everything, I would have to install Norton anti-virus again. The problem is with the activation code. I have already used the code on my other computers and if I install the anti-virus again it would not accept the code on this system this time. Is there a way to deactivate it and then reactivate it after the install? Or is there a file or entry that is stored in the system that verified and accepted the code as valid and unlocks the program for use with the system?

    Hi merlinone,

This is Mike from the Norton Authorized Support Team.

Symantec has just begun rolling out a patch for Windows 7 compatibility.

However, given that you have exceeded the installation limit, please contact the Norton Customer Support department at the link below and they will be able to assist you.

    Thank you,
    Mike
