I was trying to pay my reliance mobile bill online and I was filling up the fomalities i.e looking the amount for transaction .When I selected the Bank (net banking) and entered the username and password after few sec a web page opens and says 'Session Expired' and then I logged out from the relliance's website and tried to login separately for personal banking then I found that I was successfully logged in with no 'session expired' error.
    why such error occurred?

    help

    thanks

I expect you simply used too much time to fill in the online forms.

Many secure web sites such as banking/payment sites have certain "inactivity" time limits that you can be on a page for without clicking on the "Submit" button (or similar button). If you fail to click on a button within the required time, the site automatically ends your current login session. I expect this is a security measure to help prevent situations where someone else might try to take control of your login session.

If you type most of your information in Notepad ahead of time and then copy/paste that information into the form fields when you are at the secure web site, that might save you some time. Then you might be able to click on the "Submit" button before your session time expires.

    Otherwise, type faster. ;)

EDIT: By the way, be careful about storing sensitive information in your computer. You CERTAINLY should NOT store credit card numbers, account numbers, passwords, and such in "plain text" form in your computer. It is probably best not to store that information AT ALL in your computer.

Keeping that in mind, there are software utilities available that you can use to store some of your often-used information for filling in forms. One such utility I have heard about is "RoboForm ". I think PeteC uses that utility.

Before you consider using such a utility (or even simply using banking/payment web sites), I think you should take steps to make sure your computer is already clean of malware and you should properly protect your computer from getting "infected ". There is a "Computer Security Recommendations" link in my signature.

Another helpful resource: miekiemoes' Blog: How to prevent malware

You described yourself as "Beginner" when you joined Windows BBS. Therefore, I want to be extra sure I have warned you about the dangers out there on the Internet. :)

I was using Google Chrome (for transaction of reliance bill through bank) that is why i received errors "Session Expired "
although I was fast enough to fill the details.Chrome is the real culprit.
I don't know what is missing But surely something is missing with Google Chrome that IE has with them cos my problem of 'session expired' was solved by IE.
When I shifted to Internet Explorer for the online bill payment ,there were obstacle and I smoothly completed the transaction.

Also in one of my other thread 'Web Browser' in General Internet option where I had asked......
surely I've understood one thing that Google Chrome is not the best.
Now I'm left with opera & firefox????
Also Internet Explorer is the Godfather of all the Web Browser.

    thanks.

I have also read elsewhere in various places that some sites, did/do not work properly if someone is not using IE. I have at least one site that does not fully cooperate with me when I use Firefox. I use IE in those rare instances when I HAVE TO. Otherwise, I leave IE alone.

If you decide to give Firefox a try, here's a handy link to the current version. :)
